Dental phobia, or fear of any kind of dental treatment or surgery can affect the best of us...

Usually caused by an unkind, careless dentist or negative suggestions by others, this can prevent a sufferer from seeking needed and desired dental work - and even for basic hygiene purposes. Children and adults suffer alike, with many feeling trapped, helpless and victimised.
"Our clients find that they experience increasing sensations of comfort and relaxation as they arrive at their dental surgery, and that this increases more and more as treatment commences."
Typically, the sufferer will imagine or recall moments of pain, anxiety, helplessness in a dental treatment, and dwell on these thoughts again and again. Eventually, even the thought or mention of the 'D' word produces a fearful or phobic response.
We achieve this using light hypnosis with positive and post-hypnotic suggestions, and other modern psychological approaches, such as NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) and TFT (thought field therapy). Our consultants are all fully qualified and well-experienced in removing anxiety, fears and phobias. Most are also trainers or teachers of students and established practitioners in various specialised fields.

Coupled with the above, a gentle and caring approach with some good humour settles the nerves of even the most terrified or reluctant individual, enabling dental work to proceed normally and happily. Curiously, an amnesia for previous dentist-related worries and concerns soon develops!
"There is absolutely no need for anyone
to suffer a phobia nowadays......"

Stephen Wichett SNLP, Senior Consultant and Founder of The Phobia Clinic
